The beauty of simplicity is the complexity it attracts.
There’s a lot of truth in that one statement. A stunning detail in life. For life is rather simple and beautiful, but people make it so complex. And that’s disappointing in more ways than one.
A life is not lived without noticing the small things which are taken for granted. In which, I could give thousands of examples, and here are just a few – the sound of a child’s laughter, the dew that settled on the grass from the night before, the sunlight coming through the trees, a simple melody from a bird’s chirp, the smell of rain, or the luxurious sound of a river running. Need I go on, or do you get my drift?
Why not for once, take your own breath for granted. Do you really think it’s going to be there forever? Do you ever question the day that it will stop? Probably not, for you know nothing of what it feels like to have it taken away, or simply having the fear of it being taken. Do me a favor and really think about this for just one second before you go on…
Okay, now that you have thought about that… then maybe you should start thinking about the people you take for granted, such as your family and friends. Mmm… good one, huh? I bet, for one second there, you never even thought that it was possible that you, yourself, could ever take someone else for granted. Just goes to show you that, it doesn’t take much for a person to actually forget how much another person means to them. I will even admit that I have been so selfish, so shameless to have even done this one. So let’s just take another second, and think of all the people you say you love… and then question yourself this one thought – do you take this person for granted? Do you think they will be there forever? It may be harsh for some of you to hear this – but the answer is NO. No, they won’t be there forever. So love them as much as possible, let them know you care, let them know that you truly are there. Do not fight, nor argue with the ones you love for this just leads to hurt feelings and an endless amount of apologies. Just for the record, I hate to argue with people, for if the last thing I got to say to someone was something out of anger, then I’d have to live with that for the rest of my life. Needless to say, I promote the last words at any time to be ‘I love you’. And this goes back to the old days – do unto others…
And this leads to next of topics…
Boy, I really wish for once that people would actually think before their actions. I am most positive that every one reading this has said or did something that hurt someone in the end. And plain and simple, it’s unfair. Put yourself in the shoes of another, before you belittle them. Sit back, and think your thoughts to yourself for a second. Would it hurt if someone did it to you? Would it hurt if someone said it to you? And if you answered yes to either of those, then do the world a favor and keep your mouth shut and your actions to yourself. And if you still find it hard to do that, then be sure to keep in mind that there is a truth in ten fold – meaning the pages will turn and with them bringing ten times the effect.
Let’s go back a step – the granted thing and how they relate.
Material objects – yes, I have quite a few, but that is all they are – materialistic. They pertain to physical, rather than the spiritual or intellectual aspect of things. They can be repaired, resold, and replaced. Key word I suppose would be replaced. You can replace anything of material nature. It is the human nature that is irreplaceable. Because if one of us got hurt, then how could you really replace that? How can you replace someone who you love? You can not, there’s not a way. And believe me, if there were a way, then I would have already found it. For I have lost many that I have loved. Many people that deserve to be here, to be part of this world, to carry on good, to carry on their love for it meant something to someone. Yet, let’s not remember that part in this so called life. Let’s worry about the things that don’t give us anything other than wasteful minds. Wasteful minds with no important thoughts. Wasteful minds which do not understand the meaning of life what so ever. Let’s worry about the material shit. Yeah, let’s worry about the cars, the trucks, the toys. Let’s worry about how we are so much better than the neighbor, or how we have more than the other. Come on people, that’s just plain ignorance. The way a person lives has nothing to do with the the things we live with or the perspective of life itself. You should feel pretty ridiculous right now if that is all that you are worried about. I mean take a look around, take an actual look. These people you put down, seem to be pretty happy with what they have. And the reason for that, is because they have actually come to terms with the meaning of living. The true meaning of life, love, and happiness. Where is yours? Do you keep it in the glove box of your brand new car? Or is it trapped in the plasma of your 55” television? Maybe it’s tucked away within the crevices of your walls? The very crevices you take for granted. Let’s see it burn down, let’s see it fall to pieces… Then come to me and tell me how much you miss it. And I am sure that you will speak of the luxuries that are gone, not of the memories you lost. Or maybe let’s have a fender bender, then you will talk about the damage or the loss of your car, not of the fact that no one was harmed. Do you people seriously feel more for a non living thing than of life itself? Do you think that this man made shit really fulfills a purpose? If you do, then maybe you should go ahead and put a man made gun to your pathetic head and see where that gets you. Bang --- not far, huh?
Want to hear more? Well you’ve read this far obviously, so I must have said something that caught your interest. And I’m on a rant, so why stop now?
Negativity – oh my, negativity. If you’ve got it, then do the world a favor and get over it. If that fails then invest in the stock of Prozac… stock it in your medicine cabinet, better yet stock it in your stomach. No, disregard that, because it is overused and mistreated. Yes, I do believe there are some people out there that are chemically imbalanced (let’s take Jeffrey Dahmar for instance). But for that matter, Prozac couldn’t have even touched that case. So, I guess what I am trying to say is that life is not that bad. I mean, every one of us gets down from time to time. And all of us have problems. Though, do we really need to take a pill to get better or is there an alternative. I bet you’d never believe this, but low and behold… there is an alternative. A simple answer. A simple discovery made by man. And here it is… Every problem has a solution – now that is something I learned in math class (2 + 2 = 4) and maybe if you’d had paid attention… then we could have cut the pharmaceutical business out a long time ago. And with that I could go on and on about the governmental control with the pharmaceutical world, but I’m sure you are already aware of it. And if for some reason you’re not, then I’m sure there will be a time that I will want to rant on and on about that, just not tonight (hell I wouldn’t be able to sleep for a week cause my fingers would be endlessly tapping on this keyboard so we will leave that for another topic all in itself). So we will go along to the next for now… another complex issue.
Why do people worry about things that which they have no control over. Every thing happens for a reason - Reason and rhyme, rhyme and reason. And for the most part, we don’t get the chance to realize it at the time it happens why it happened, but later we understand it, when we really need to know why. In turn, making the big things seem so little in the end. And once again proving that there is no need to worry ourselves. No need to overreact, no need to dwell upon, no need to cause yourself any more gray hairs. Meaning, that there is no need to stress. So stress should actually be solace.
With solace, I will leave you. I will let it lead you into simplicity.
Simplicity – that’s what we all need.
Simplicity – that’s all we need.
Live, laugh, love…
